With each cycle, the R1700 hauls 20% more material than its predecessor and is highly aggressive in the pile. It loads, climbs, hauls and dumps faster. And it’s factory ready for the latest technologies, including fully autonomous haulage, which takes safety and efficiency to a new level. The R1700 is infused with features to keep people safe. It offers three engine emission options, including one that meets Stage V standards, and can be tailored to your mine’s ventilation requirements.

Introducing the R1700 XE battery electric LHD—a high-productivity, zero exhaust emission loader with the industry’s only onboard battery. It charges quickly—in less than 20 minutes when paired with two of the durable and mobile Cat MEC500 chargers. This provides an alternative to expensive static charging station infrastructure, as well as the need for additional batteries, battery handling and battery swapping. The machine also features Autodig for optimized loading and is factory-ready for autonomous operation. And it delivers the powerful performance, maximum uptime and low operating costs you demand.

Cat® MineStar™ Command for underground enables remote operation of load-haul-dump machines to deliver immediate productivity and efficiency gains to your operation. The system improves safety by removing operators from hazardous environments. It also delivers machine utilization increases over line-of-sight mucking operations by reducing the downtime required for shift changes, blast times, and any other conditions that can remove operators from the face.
