Geoffrey joined Hastings Deering in January 2014 as Chief Financial Officer, and currently serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team where he is responsible for all aspects of Hastings Deering’s financial management.  His responsibilities include financial management, acquisitions, reporting, tax and treasury operations, financial strategy and risk management, along with corporate governance and compliance. Prior to joining Hastings Deering, Geoffrey spent 20 years with Hong Kong based conglomerate Jardine Matheson, where he gained experience across a broad portfolio of market leading businesses. Before Jardine Matheson, Geoffrey worked for one of Australia’s largest mining and minerals’ processing groups, MIM Holdings (now Xstrata), with operations comprising over 100 mining and metallurgical sites, together with oil production assets. Geoffrey holds Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Queensland, he has completed the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD in France and is a Member of CPA Australia and the Association of Corporate Treasurers in the United Kingdom.
