James has worked for Hastings Deering since 2011 and is based in Brisbane. James brings a wealth of industry expertise. He has held diverse roles in Hastings Deering throughout his career spanning operations, product, and customer support. Before joining us, James held positions with industry leaders such as Terex, Bucyrus, and Caterpillar. Additionally, James has garnered international experience through his work with Ghana’s Caterpillar dealer, after starting his mining industry career within Queensland’s Bowen Basin.

James holds a Graduate Certificate in Maintenance Management from Central Queensland University, a Bachelor of Business from Southern Cross University, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Queensland University of Technology.

James’ responsibilities at Hastings Deering include:

• Supply Chain – optimise and manage Hastings Deering's parts supply value chain, strategy, inventory, processes, and systems

• Aftermarket - create and deliver parts and service market offerings and strategies designed to deliver on the equipment ownership value proposition

• Technical Support and Warranty – assist the business in resolving any issues with Caterpillar product functionality and performance and ensure warranty claims to Caterpillar are timely and accurate.

James finds real fulfilment in working closely with our dedicated team members, fostering their growth and collaboration for success. Outside work, James enjoys staying active by running around Brisbane with his dog, Harry. He loves exploring new towns and cities both domestically and internationally with his wife Alexandra.
